'Word Processor of the Gods' is a short story by Stephen King published in the 'Skeleton Crew' collection.

In the days when dedicated word processors were still popular, the main character, a middle aged man tired of his bad-tempered wife, his no-good teenage son, and life in general, gets a gift from his nephew, a teenage genius. It is a custom built word processor. Unfortunately, that kid has died in a car accident recently, so the main character is on his own to figure out how to use it. He discovers that with this word processor he can write things into existence and delete them -- at least, as long as the word processor can last. This theme was copied in a Goosebumps book.

King's story was first published in the January 1983 issue of Playboy
