Lamech or Lémech (לָמֶךְ / לֶמֶךְ "Low; poor", Standard Hebrew Lémeḫ / Lámeḫ, Tiberian Hebrew Lémeḵ / Lāmeḵ) is a name occurring twice in the genealogies of Adam, at the end of both lines, within the torah:
- Lamech, the descendant of Cain, a culture hero, responsible for the song of the sword.
- Lamech is also the name of the father of Noah, and son of Methuselah, who is also present in the genealogy of Jesus within the Gospel of Luke
