N-Affil (Need for Affiliation) is a term introduced by David McClelland into the field of psychology, to describe a person's need to feel like he needs to belong to a group. These individuals require warm interpersonal relationships and approval from those in these relationships is very satisfying. People who value affiliation a lot tend to be good team members, but poor leaders.
