Template:Cleanup-date A biogenic amine is a biogenic substance with an amine group. Some prominent examples include neurotransmitters such as acetylcholine, catecholamines, and serotonin. Other examples include
- Norepinephrine, a neurotransmitter in the catecholamine family that mediates chemical communication in the sympathetic nervous system, a branch of the autonomic nervous system
- Histamine, an important amine involved in many allergic reactions
