Tunku Najihah binti Tunku Besar Burhanuddin was born in 1924, the younger sister of Tunku Kurshiah binti Almarhum Tunku Besar Burhanuddin.
She married her eldest sister's stepson, Tuanku Jaafar ibni Almarhum Tuanku Abdul Rahman and succeeded as Tunku Ampuan of Negeri Sembilan in 1967. She served as Raja Permaisuri Agong of Malaysia between 1994 and 1999.
