Planet Source Code is a free source code database and sharing site. Part of the Exhedra Solutions group, along with RentACoder.com. It was founded by Ian Ippolito.

Each month there is a contest in each programming language category for the best code. This is based on a rating and comment system, where you are expected to leave constructive messages and ratings wherever possible. The site displays prompts to sign up after five code views.

Members can upload and download unlimited amounts of code, and all uploads are automatically entered into the coding contest for that month. The authors of the three or four selected "Code of the Month" items receive their choice of prize from a range of books and software. Members can upload code in the form of text, zip files containing full projects, or they can submit tutorials or reviews of third party products.

Code can be used from any submissions, but credit must be given to the author if requested.
