Lockheed Martin Alenia Tactical Transport Systems (LMATTS) was a joint company formed in 1997 for the development of the C-27J Spartan, a further development of Alenia's G222. It has since been folded due to disagreements between the partners. The C-27J is still available directly from Alenia.
The C-27J uses the same Rolls-Royce AE 2100 engines as the Lockheed Martin C-130J as well as similar avionics and cargo facilites.
