Jacinto City is a city located in Harris County, Texas. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 10,302. Jacinto City is part of the Houston Metropolitan Area.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 4.8 km² (1.9 mi²). 4.8 km² (1.9 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there were 10,302 people, 2,947 households, and 2,392 families residing in the city. The population density was 2,138.5/km² (5,540.8/mi²). There were 3,124 housing units at an average density of 648.5/km² (1,680.2/mi²). The racial makeup of the city was 68.18% White, 1.23% African American, 0.89% Native American, 0.23% Asian, 0.01% Pacific Islander, 25.66% from other races, and 3.79% from two or more races. 75.39% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There were 2,947 households out of which 48.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 63.3% were married couples living together, 11.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 18.8% were non-families. 16.1% of all households were made up of individuals and 7.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.45 and the average family size was 3.88.
In the city the population was spread out with 33.3% under the age of 18, 11.9% from 18 to 24, 28.8% from 25 to 44, 16.8% from 45 to 64, and 9.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 28 years. For every 100 females there were 100.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 100.3 males.
The median income for a household in the city was $34,672, and the median income for a family was $36,755. Males had a median income of $30,323 versus $22,224 for females. The per capita income for the city was $11,292. 15.8% of the population and 16.1% of families were below the poverty line. 15.9% of those under the age of 18 and 14.2% of those 65 and older were living below the poverty line.
Education
Areas south of Market Street are zoned to Galena Park Independent School District while areas north of Market Street are zoned to Houston Independent School District.
Students who are in the GPISD area zoned to the following elementary schools:
- Jacinto City Elementary School (Jacinto City) (West of Holland Avenue, north of Lane Street)
- Pyburn Elementary School (Houston) (east of Holland Street)
- MacArthur Elementary School (Galena Park) (south of Lane Street)
All students in the GPISD area are zoned to Galena Park Middle School (in Galena Park, and Galena Park High School (also in Galena Park).
Students who are in the HISD area are zoned to Whittier Elementary School, Holland Middle School and Furr High School. All of those schools are in Houston.
The pupils zoned to GPISD are served by San Jacinto College, while the students zoned HISD are served by the Houston Community College System.
The Harris County Public Library system operates the Jacinto City Branch in Jacinto City.
