History
North Bend was originally platted by Will Taylor in February 1889 as Snoqualmie.[1] On March 3, 1890, Snoqualmie was renamed Mountain View, because another town of the same name already existed just a few miles down the valley.[2] The Post Office Department, however, objected to the name Mountain View. The city was then renamed North Bend after its location near the north bend of the South Fork of the Snoqualmie River. North Bend was officially incorporated on March 12, 1909.
