The Coot Kin is a fictional family created in the Scrooge McDuck universe. The surname "Coot" had been used on several ducks by various artists, usually for characters who were relatives of Donald Duck but weren't Ducks or McDucks. When Don Rosa created his Duck Family Tree in 1993, he included the Coots used by Carl Barks and himself as Grandma Duck's family are descendants of Cornelius Coot. It was Rosa's idea to use Coot as Grandma's maiden name, and to have Cornelius Coot as an ancestor of Donald.

Family members
- Cornelius Coot (c.1790-c.1880) - the first known member of the Coot kin, and the founder of Duckburg. It is believed that he was married.
- Clinton Coot (c.1830-c.1910) - Cornelius' son and the founder of the Junior Woodchucks. He married Gertrude Gadwall.
- Elvira "Grandma Duck" Coot - Clinton's daughter. She married Humperdink Duck and had three children and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren - see the Duck family article for more information.
- Casey Coot - Clinton's son, who sold the deed to Killmule Hill and Fort Duckburg to Scrooge McDuck. Casey married Gretchin Grebe and had two children.
- Fanny Coot and Cuthbert Coot - Casey's two children. Although Cuthbert is Donald's cousin in the Barks story he originally appeared in, he is Donald's father's cousin in the tree.
- Gus Goose - son of Fanny Coot and her husband Luke The Goose.
- Kildare Coot - a relative of Donald who didn't appear in Rosa's tree, as he isn't a Barks character. He might be the son of a third child of Casey Coot.
