Przeginia is an element of Slavic mythology, primarily associated with Goddess Earth. The word or some varient therof occurs in many Slavic languages. In Old Russian "peregynja" means "steep place, inaccessible, canyon", but also "mountain (grown with forest - therefore - united with *perkynja, see: Perkunas)".

The Sanskrit word Parjanya menas (secondarily) "cloud (also as source of thunderbolts?), rain".
