Current revision
Robert Charles Wilson (born 1953) is a science fiction author. Wilson was born in California and grew up in Canada, and his work has won the John W. Campbell Memorial Award, multiple Aurora Awards, and two Philip K. Dick Awards; he has also been nominated repeatedly for the Hugo Award. He currently lives in Concord, Ontario, just north of Toronto. In addition to the novels listed below, he is the author of the short-story collection The Perseids. His first publication was in Analog Science Fiction under the name Bob Chuck Wilson. A literate and thoughtful writer, he combines sensitive, nuanced characterization with mind-bogglingly big hard-SF ideas, resulting in his books often being New York Times Notable Books of the Year. His literary agent is Shawna McCarthy, and his most recent books (including Blind Lake and Spin) have been edited by Teresa Nielsen Hayden of Tor Books (Tom Doherty Associates).
