Ich Troje is a Polish pop group made up of Michał Wiśniewski, Jacek Łągwa, Magda Pokora (aka Magda Femme, 1996-2000), Justyna Majkowska (2000-2003) and Anna Świątczak (2003-2005).
Ich Troje was conceived in 1997 by songwriter Michal Wisniewski and composer Jacek Łągwa. Wisniewski, the charismatic red-haired singer, has been the most popular person in Polish show business for several years. The group's name can be translated as "The Three of Them."
The group's music is castigated by the critics, and Michał Wisniewski frankly claims himself, that he can't actually sing. Nevertheless, since about 2000, Ich Troje has been the most popular Polish group. In the last two years Ich Troje have given over 300 concerts. Their fans come from different backgrounds: from amused children to pensioners in tears. Their concerts are great shows that combine the power of pop music with the verve of a musical. They talk about love, betrayal, break-ups in a dramatic atmosphere. Now they hope that people from other countries will also enjoy their songs because, as Michal sings, there shouldn’t be any borders between people and it’s time to put that idea into practice.
On the 25th of January 2003 the public decided for the first time who would represent Poland at the Eurovision Song Contest. Even before that evening everybody expected who would win - Ich Troje, a band that has sold over 1.5 million records since June 2001. During the contest they performed the song “No borders” that the leader of the group, Michał Wiśniewski, defines as “the song of unifying Europe”. That’s why it was performed in three languages: Polish, German and Russian – the languages of nations that fought against each other for many years. Poland came seventh in the Eurovision Song Contest 2003. They were once again in the national final to select Poland's entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2006, with the song Follow My Heart, which the group sang together with rapper O-Jay from the successful Eurodance act Real McCoy. They in fact won and now are now the Polish representatives for the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest.
Ich Troje disbanded in 2003, a couple of months after their participation at the Eurovision Song Contest. Both Michał Wiśniewski and Justyna Majkowska continued with their solo careers. However, they are now back together again, more popular than ever.
