The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) is situated in the Nigerian city of Ibadan. It was established in 1967 with the aim of improving food production in the tropics and developing sustainable production.
It is one of the 15 specialised research centres – the "Future Harvest Centres" – of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR).
IITA has research stations in Nigeria, Benin, Cameroon, Côte d'Ivoire and Uganda.
