Snow cream is a traditional wintertime treat in the USA. It is made by slowly pouring a small amount of sweetened dairy-based liquid (similar to ice cream ingredients) into snow. The liquid partially melts the snow and congeals into an easily made ice cream substitute.

Snow cream is sometimes improved with the addition of powdered sugar and food coloring.

A simple Snow Cream recipe:

  • 1-3 Cups of clean snow.
  • 1/2 Cup of milk or cream (whipping cream, etc.)
  • 1 Tablespoon of sugar
  • 2-3 drops vanilla flavoring (or other flavors.)
</p>

For more fun, add some food coloring.

In separate bowl, mix the milk or cream, the sugar, and the flavoring. Then slowly add the snow to desired consistency. Add food coloring if desired.
