The word punter may refer to:
- Someone who uses a Punt (boat).
- A player in American football - see Punter (football position).
- The Punters, a traditional Irish music group.
- A player in the game of Baccarat.
- Punter (protocol), a file-transfer protocol.
- In British English, a colloquialism for:
- a customer of a prostitute.
- a customer of any business, the usage being primarily found in London and Essex.
- In both British English and Australian English punter is also used as a colloquialism for a gambler, particularly an amateur betting on horse racing. Australians also use punting to mean gambling, whereas in British English punting means "boating in a punt".
Punter also means a " dude " in Hindi language ( Indian in origin ) .
Example : " Punter hai re ekdum ", meaning " He is a cool dude "
