- Celtic revolt in Britain led by Boudica, Queen of the Iceni. She is defeated and killed by the Roman governor, Suetonius Paulinus.
- After defeating the Iceni, the Romans begin the process of Romanizing Britain. They create Roman-style cities, install a Roman administration and build roads.
- Galba becomes governor of Hispania Tarraconensis.
