A gilt is any of the following:
- A thin covering of gold. See gilding.
- A government bond issued in the UK for HM Treasury by the UK Debt Management Office. The term stems from the initial practice of producing government bond certificates with gold edges, hence 'gilt-edged'. See gilts.
- An immature female pig.
- Gilt, a Dutch word meaning "To scream" (Present tense).
