Peter David Merholz (born 1972) is a weblogger.
Merholz claims to have coined the shorter version of the word weblog, "blog," in April or May of 1999 by breaking the word weblog into the phrase "we blog" in the sidebar of his weblog. (Others attribute the coinage to Jorn Barger.)
He is currently a partner in the user experience firm Adaptive Path.
He earned a B.A. degree from UC Berkeley in 1993.
