Template:Merge to James Todhunter Sloane (real name James Forman Sloane), known as "Tod" Sloane (1874-1933), was a famous US jockey who won many races using the short stirrup riding style which he popularized.
Sloane lends his name to the Cockney rhyming slang term "On your Tod" - meaning "On your own".
