- The Siege of Jerusalem (70) in the year 70 by Titus, ending the Great Jewish Revolt
- The Siege of Jerusalem (637) in 637 by Umar, capturing the city from the Byzantine Empire
- The Siege of Jerusalem (1099) in 1099 by the crusaders, a part of the First Crusade
- The Siege of Jerusalem (1187) in 1187 by Saladin, resulting in the recapture of the city by the Muslims.
- The Siege of Jerusalem (1244) in 1244 by the Khwarezmians, again resulting in the recapture of the city from the Christians, to whom it had been returned by treaty.
