HMS Cobra, named after the cobra snake, was a steam turbine powered destroyer of the Royal Navy, launched in 1899 but wrecked in 1901.
A Portsmouth newspaper reported at the time.
"The navigating party on board the Cobra numbered fifty-four, of whom ten were saved and forty-four lost, and the contractors' party and others on board numbered twenty-five, of whom twenty-three were drowned and two saved. The total number drowned was thus sixty-seven."Template:UK-mil-ship-stub
