Severo-Kurilsk (Japanese: Mairuppo) is the northernmost settlement in the Kuril Islands, a part of Sakhalin Oblast in Russia. It is located on the island of Paramushir. The settlement was under Japanese rule between 1875 and 1945. Unlike the southern Kurils, the status of Severo-Kurlisk is not in dispute.
