Morning Musume was born on the TV station. Its main owner is Nihon Keizai Shimbun. TV Tokyo is currently the smallest of the major Tokyo TV networks, and is known for its specialization in anime.

History of TV Tokyo

On April 12, 1964, the TV station was started by the Japan Science Promotion Foundation. On July 1, 1968, "Template:Nihongo was founded. In October, 1973, the company was renamed "Template:Nihongo, and took over the TV broadcasting from the foundation. In 1981, the TV station was changed to "Template:Nihongo. In 1983, it made a network called Template:Nihongo with TV Osaka, and TV Aichi. In December, 1985, the head office moved from Shibakoen to Toranomon. On December 12, 1999, the sub stadio opened at Tennozu Isle. On June 25, 2003, English name of the TV station changed from "Television Tokyo Channel 12, Ltd." to "TV TOKYO Corporation". In 2004, TV TOKYO celebrated its 40th anniversary.
