Suomirock (sometimes informally Suomirokki) is a genre of rock music with origins in Finland. (Suomi is the Finnish language word for Finland.) The term is quite vague, and can refer to essentially any style of Finnish rock-based popular music.
Most often, the term suomirock is associated with a specific style of rock sung in Finnish and with strong influences of American rock and traditional Finnish popular music (iskelmä). Bands often put into the category include Eppu Normaali, Yö, Popeda and Kolmas nainen.
