Image:Gwest 100.jpg The Great West Football Conference is a NCAA Division I-AA college athletic conference. As its name suggests, it is a football-only conference. The conference's first season was 2004. Cal Poly won the conference title in 2004 and 2005, and in 2005 was the conference's first participant in the I-AA tournament.

The University of Northern Colorado was a charter member of the GWFC. They joined the Big Sky Conference in 2006.
