Template:Infobox University Lane College is a four-year, accredited historically black college located in Jackson, Tennessee, just east of the downtown area. It is primarily a liberal arts institution associated with the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church. Athletic teams nicknamed the "Dragons" are sponsored and compete in Division II of the NCAA.


Mission Statement

Overall, the mission of the area of Academic Affairs is to prepare students to successfully compete with their counterparts from other institutions upon graduation, while at the same time exhibiting characteristics of the Ideal Lane College Graduate. The area of Academic Affairs is dedicated to providing an overall academic environment which is sensitive and nurturing, while simultaneously, challenging students to achieve new levels of excellence. This is done with primary emphasis on excellent(?) teaching, research, and advising; a strong curriculum; and high quality Academic Support Services. The area also subscribes to the College’s rituals, traditions, and promotes its overall Mission.
