.me.uk is a second level domain of .uk from Nominet UK. This domain was introduced on the 14th of January 2002, the first major introduction of a new UK second level domain since the formation of Nominet.

The domain was introduced following a proposal from a Non-Executive director Alex Bligh to make a domain for individuals. The rules were later tightened to allow only individuals to register within it.

The .me.uk domain proposal beat a similar .soc.uk proposal that had been submitted by Dr Willie Black to create a domain with a slightly wider charter.

A company called PDN also submitted a proposal for a .me.uk domain but as this was submitted later and a strict process was adhered to the first proposal beat it on time.
