Peristeri (Greek: Περιστέρι, standing for "pigeon" in Greek), older forms Peristerio and Peristerion is a suburban community in Athens area (Attica), Greece. It is located about 5 km NW of the downtown area. The municipality is bordered by the Cephissus/Cephissos River, Athinon Avenue (GR-8), Chaidari in the west and Petroupoli in the northwest. The size is around 10 km². Peristeri includes the northern half of the Athens Industrial Area. Its main streets are Kennedy Street and Thívon Street. The Athens Bus Terminal is in the east slightly east of Peristeri along with its nearest station in Sepolia, a part of Athens. A metro station opened in 2004 in Peristeri. It is named Aghios Antonios because it is located near the Aghios Antonios (Saint Anthony) church. Two other stations, Peristeri (near the town hall) and Anthoupoli (near Thivon St.) are under construction and will open in 2008.

Peristeri has schools, lyceums, gymnasia, banks, a post office and squares (plateies). Peristeri has a secondary junior division football/soccer team named AEF Peristeriou.
