Dmitri Bulykin (born November 20, 1979 in Moscow) is a Russian football (soccer) player and a popular public character. He is a striker, who is currently listed with Dynamo Moscow. He had not played in almost 6 months and had been denied participation in training process after a change in club management. In 2005 he played only in 8 matches, scoring once. His contract with Dynamo expires in the end of 2005.

Bulykin was expected to transfer to English club Portsmouth F.C. in January 2005, but doubts over his level of fitness tempted them to cancel negotiations.

Bulykin used to be a regular for the Russian national team under the general coach Georgy Yartsev and played for his country at Euro 2004. Just as with his main club, Dynamo, he stopped being invited in the national team after Yartsev resigned.

He enjoys a somewhat twisted popularity among Russian football fans, being a subject of numerious jokes. He's sometimes referred to as Bulham.

Moment of Glory

Dmitry Bulykin's Moment of Glory was the Euro-2004 qualifier in Moscow against Switzerland (4:1), where he scored 3 goals. Neither before nor after did he come close to that achievement. Despite all jokes and critique, he's noted to be one of the very few Russian footballers capable of performing on the "second floor" - able to score a header.
