The Googleplex is the Google company headquarters, located in Mountain View, Santa Clara County, California, near San Francisco. Googleplex is a play on words, googolplex being the name given to <math>10^{googol}</math> (a one followed by a googol zeros). It is also a portmanteau of Google and complex — the headquarters comprising a complex of buildings. The building is unlike many modern company headquarters; contained within the sprawling complex are shade lamps, giant rubber balls, and other unusual niceties reminiscent of the dot-com boom. The complex is located along Charleston Road in north Mountain View close to the Shoreline Park wetlands. Google's neighbors include a Century Theatres movie theater, Microsoft Corporation's Silicon Valley research complex, and Shoreline Amphitheatre.

As a point of interest, Google's headquarters complex is actually the former home of the once-legendary computer company Silicon Graphics (SGI). The campus was known for its unusual architecture, with sharp, angular buildings often painted in uncommon colors.

Other uses

'And are you not,' said Fook leaning anxiously forward, 'a greater analyst than the Googleplex Star Thinker in the Seventh Galaxy of Light and Ingenuity which can calculate the trajectory of every single dust particle throughout a five-week Dangrabad Beta sand blizzard?'
