The Texas League is a minor league baseball league which operates in the South Central United States. It is classified a AA (double-A) league. The league was first formed in 1888, and has had member teams located in several of the surrounding states, including Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Kansas, Mississippi, New Mexico, and most recently Missouri. The league is divided into an East Division and a West Division, and retained these designations even after the move of two teams after the 2004 season made a North-South split seem equally logical.
