Chaka Fattah (born November 21, 1956) has been a Democratic member of the United States House of Representatives since entering it in 1995, representing the 2nd Congressional district of Pennsylvania (map), which includes North Philadelphia, West Philadelphia and Cheltenham Township in Montgomery County.

Born in Philadelphia, where has lived all his life, he attended Overbrook High School and received an A.A. from Philadelphia Community College in 1976 and MA in Government Administration from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School in 1986. He also completed the Senior Executive Program for State Officials at Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government. He was a Representative in the Pennsylvania General Assembly from 1983-88 and a State Senator from 1988-94.

Congressman Fattah is married to Renee Chenault-Fattah, a local Philadelphia television news broadcaster on WCAU-TV (NBC 10). However, most people refer to her as Renee Chenault.

Legislation Sponsored: He is a cosponsor of legislation to provide the District of Columbia *voting respresentation *(HR 2043).

Rep. Fattah is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha, the first intercollegiate Greek-letter fraternity established for African Americans.

Congressman Fattah is expected to be a candidate for Mayor of Philadelphia in 2007 when Mayor John Street is term limited.
