Background

Ne'tu was once a prosperous, industrialized world. This changed when Sokar conquered Delmak and chose it as his homeworld. He chose its moon Ne'tu to serve as his own personal Hell on which to exile his foes, as he preferred to watch them suffer rather than to kill them. In order to transform Ne'tu into Hell, he fired upon it with his ships to increase volcanic activity and expose the molten core, and filled the atmosphere with barely breathable toxins. It cannot be reached by Stargate, and no ship can land there; all denizens of Ne'tu are sent through descent pods on ships. The only way off the moon is the single set of Ring Transporters, which go directly to Sokar's palace on Delmak.

Sokar's appointed ruler of Ne'tu was the Goa'uld Bynarr who was allowed a single hand device and a Jaffa staff weapon for his First Prime. Although these were the only energy weapons on the planet, many prisoners built primitive weapons to arm themselves. Bynarr often ringed up to Sokar's palace to tell him stories about how the prisoners were suffering.

It was said that no one ever escaped from Ne'tu, except the Tok'ra Jolinar of Malkshur. She managed to do this by seducing Bynarr, and when he was sleeping, she took the activator for the Rings from him. She then fled to Delmak, where she stole a transport ship. Because of this Sokar took Bynarr's left eye away, leaving him badly scarred and thirsting for revenge on Jolinar.

Current time

Ne'tu was destroyed by a Tok'ra weapon in order to kill Sokar, who was in orbit in his Ha'tak at the time.
