In it, the player controls a pig whose babies have been kidnapped by a group of wolves. Pooyan was also released for the Atari 2600 and Commodore 64.

Mama pig defends her home and rescues her piglets riding an elevator car, using a bow and arrow and slabs of meat against balloon-riding wolves.

Pooyan is Japanese for "little pigs".

Pooyan is also a Persian name for a male. It means a person who explores new ideas.
