HM Mutara III. (or Rudahigwa) (1912? - 1959) was the king of Rwanda between 1931 and 1959.
Mutara III died under mysterious circumstances in Bujumbura, Burundi in 1959. He was succeded by his younger brother Jean Baptiste Ndahindurwa, who ruled as Kigeri V.
He was married to Rosalie Gicanda and after his murder she remained in Rwanda. On April 22, 1994, under the orders of Lt. Pierre Bizimana, acting in turn under the orders of Capt. Idelphonse Nizeyimana, Queen Mother Rosalie Gicanda was murdered.
