Jason Epstein is a key figure in the popularisation of the trade paperback. He also founded Anchor Books, and the New York Review of Books, with others. He wrote a book entitled Book Business: Publishing Past, Present, and Future. He is trying to introduce a book on demand system. Thus far, he has not had any success with making it a mainstream venture.
In 1993, Epstein married Judith Miller, a journalist who wrote for The New York Times.
