Ainax is a listed holding company that owns shares in the Swedish truck maker Scania. The company is a result of an attempted acquisition of Scania by Volvo that was blocked by the European Commission for competition reasons. Due to the fact that Volvo was ordered to discontinue its ownership in Scania, the shares were placed in a separate holding company, which was then divested to the Volvo shareholders.

Ainax is a temporary solution in the long term ownership structure of Scania. The company is intended to enter into liquidation on May 1, 2008 unless the ownership question has already been settled.
