Sankt Vith

Image:Saint-Vith JPG01.jpgSankt Vith (French: Saint-Vith) is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Liège, and in the German speaking community in Belgium. On January 1 2005 Sankt Vith had a total population of 9,127. The total area is 146.93 km² which gives a population density of 62.12 inhabitants per km². The official language in this municipality is German. Sankt Vith was annexed by Belgium on March 6, 1925.

The town was heavily bombed and destroyed by the US Air Force in 1944 during the Battle of the Bulge.
