Jerome Horwitz

Jerome Horwitz is an American scientist. He first synthesized the compound that would later become known as zidovudine, an antiviral drug used to treat HIV, in 1964. At that time he was working for the Michigan Cancer Foundation with a federal grant from the National Institutes of Health.
