King's Highway was a route used in the 17th century connecting the Spanish settlement of St. Augustine, Florida to Spanish colonies in Mexico. Initially the route ran from St. Augustine west through central Florida and may have gone through Fort McCoy. Later it may have run up the east coast of Florida before turning west. Leaving Florida it ran west to Texas and down to Mexico.
