Toijala is a town and municipality of Finland, some 40 km south from Tampere. It is known as an important railway crossroads, where the Helsinki-Tampere and Turku-Tampere tracks meet.
Toijala is located in the province of Western Finland and is part of the Pirkanmaa region. The municipality has a population of 8,305 (end of April 2004) and covers an area of 58.60 km² of which 7.72 km² is water. The population density is 163.2 (December 31, 2003) inhabitants per km². The municipality is unilingually Finnish.
