Template:References Many food crises have occurred in the world today. The US has been seen by some to have fewer agricultural crises than the UK and Europe. Events such as Mad cow disease (BSE) and Foot and Mouth disease which happened in the UK, and dioxin contamination which happened in Belgium, and the spread of blood infected with HIV had a lasting impact on British and European trust in their governments and in the practices of agribusiness.
