Phthalic acids

Phthalic acids, also known as benzene dicarboxylic acids, are organic acids with the chemical formula C6H4(COOH)2. There are three isomers: ortho- or phthalic acid (1,2-benzenedicarboxylic acid); meta- or isophthalic acid (1,3-benzenedicarboxylic acid); para- or terephthalic acid (1,4-benzenedicarboxylic acid).
