• Élie Cartan develops the exterior derivative.

Medicine

• Epinephrine is rediscovered by Jokichi Takamine, who names it adrenaline.

Photography

• Eastman Kodak introduced the 120 film.

Physics

• Guglielmo Marconi transmits radio signals from Cornwall to Newfoundland.
