A number plate may be:
- A plate attached to the front or sides of racing vehicle denoting the ranking level of the racer at the end of the previous racing season.
- A road vehicle number plate. See vehicle registration plate.
- A plate attached to locomotives indicating their number, particularly on the Great Western Railway. They are often collected as memorabilia.
