Cisjordan is a region in the Middle East. Cisjordan is defined as being the region west of the Jordan River and east of the Mediterranean Sea, bordered on the south by Egypt and on the north by Lebanon and Syria. The name Cisjordan is used in Romance languages like French and Italian to refer the West Bank. Cisjordan is often used in contrast to Transjordan.
