Forex reserves is a term used to refer to foreign exchange reserves in India. They are counted in US dollars. India's "forex reserves" recently passed the 100 billion US$ mark. [1] India has built up this reserve after an unpleasant incident in the early 1990s, when the country's gold reserve had to be pledged because of a balance of payments crisis.
