Ulzana's Raid is a 1972 Western directed by Robert Aldrich, written by Alan Sharp and starring Burt Lancaster.
It is based on a true story. US Army scout MacIntosh leads the troops sent out to chase down Apache breakout Ulzana, more commonly known as Josana. Mention is made of several other Apache leaders. One of the main characters is an Apache scout, modeled after two or more real Apache scouts, who does his job despite not being fully trusted by the rookie Leiutenant who led the Army detachment.
