C. L. Schmitt of New Kensington, Pennsylvania served in the Pennsylvania State Legislature for 16 years, serving the 54th District and is noted for working to establish the PA Consumer Credit Act. A bridge connecting New Kensington to West New Kensington, Pennsylvania, across the Allegheny River, was built and named in his honor in 1927.
